History

Born in the beachside city of Sydney, Australia in 1979, Le Specs gained worldwide recognition for its iconic and innovative sunglasses,  offered at an accessible price. The brand built a loyal international following and became a trendsetter in the global fashion scene (Le Specs, 2025).

Le Specs was revived in 2006 by Sunshades Eyewear, reimagining its designs while maintaining its original essence. The brand’s identity resonated with global fashion communities, making it a favourite among celebrities and fashion insiders. Collaborations with designers like Adam Selman and Christian Cowan further elevated Le Specs' status (Le Specs, 2025).

The brand's commitment to sustainable design saw Le Specs introduce the Le Sustain collection, a standalone series of signature styles made from completely sustainable materials with a zero-waste componentry (Marie-Clare, 2024). Today, Le Specs continues to redefine eyewear with innovation and quality while staying true to its Australian heritage with Le Specs continuing to build on its international success, now available in over 90 countries worldwide (treedistribution.com, 2022)
